Frequently Asked Questions

Booking and payment

  • You get an instant quote on our website and can book in a few minutes:

    • Choose your pick-up and return locations and your dates in the search box.
    • Pick the vehicle that best suits your trip and group size.
    • Select the pickup and return times, the insurance, and any extras you need, and check the total price.
    • Fill in your personal and contact details.
    • Pay online by card on our secure payment page.

You will then receive a booking confirmation by email. Please check your spam folder too!

  • How much you pay online depends on the rental provider and vehicle model you choose. Some providers require just a small down payment (10–50% of the total) at the time of booking, with the balance due at pick-up, while others require full payment upfront. You'll see the exact terms clearly before you confirm your booking.

Down payments are processed through our secure platform. At pick-up, you'll also need a valid credit card for the security deposit. This amount will be pre-authorized and released once your rental ends. You can also view the security deposit amount during the booking process.

    • Age & license: It depends on the rental company. Many require drivers to be 21 or 25, and some add a young driver fee. A valid driver's license held for the minimum time the company asks for is required.
    • Minimum duration: It depends on the vehicle, the company and the season. Search results automatically filter out vehicles that do not meet the minimum duration for your dates.
    • Booking lead time: Book as early as you can, especially for summer, holidays and spring break. Last-minute availability is limited.
    • Fuel policy: Usually return the vehicle with the same fuel level as received. Check the conditions of your vehicle.
    • Preparation time: An RV takes longer to prepare than a car. If your preferred pick-up or drop-off time needs a small adjustment, we will contact you right away.

Check each provider's specific age limits, license requirements, and policies directly in the booking process.

  • It depends on the vehicle and the rental company: each vehicle page in the RV rentals section lists exactly what is included. Typically the price covers the rental itself, and may include:

    • A mileage allowance or unlimited miles (only on some models)
    • Basic liability and damage cover, as set by the company
    • Roadside assistance

Usually not included: extra protection, additional drivers, generator use, kitchen and bedding kits, the optional equipment on our Extras page, fuel, propane, campground fees, extra miles, and any tolls, tickets or fees incurred during the rental.

  • Most bookings are confirmed as soon as your payment goes through. Some vehicles are “on request”: the rental company has to confirm the booking, which can take up to 48 hours. For those, nothing is charged when you book: the amount is only held on your card and charged when they confirm. If they can't confirm, the hold is released. We always tell you clearly before you book, and we'll email you as soon as we have the answer.

  • You are charged in US dollars (USD). Prices are shown in your own currency for convenience, but that is only an approximate conversion: the actual rate applied by your bank may vary. Taxes and fees that the rental company adds are shown in the price breakdown during booking.

Pick-up and return

    • At pick-up, you will need the renter's passport or ID, the driver's original driver's license, and a valid credit card in the renter's name. As a general guide, if your license is not in English (or not written in the Latin alphabet), bring an International Driving Permit (IDP) alongside your original license. Because IDP requirements vary by U.S. state, we highly recommend bringing one regardless of the states you intend to visit.
    • Any additional drivers must bring their passport or photo ID and their driver's license.
    • A credit card is required as a guarantee for your rental: a security deposit will be held on it at pick-up.
  • Once your booking is confirmed, you'll get an email with all the details of your rental, including the pick-up location. At the rental company's office you'll sign the rental agreement, and the vehicle will be handed over to you. The agent will walk you through how everything works (water, electricity, generator, toilet, awning) and how to return it when your trip is over.

  • Pick-up and return can only take place during the opening hours of each provider and location, as these vary from one to another. Within those hours, every vehicle has its own available pick-up and return times, and you can choose from the options shown during booking.

We always try to accommodate your preferred times, but they need to be approved by the provider, since each vehicle is cleaned and checked before every trip. If a time can't be guaranteed, we'll let you know as soon as we're aware of it.

  • You can pick up your vehicle in five cities: Las Vegas, Nevada (our main location), Los Angeles, San Francisco, Salt Lake City and Phoenix. Return it to the same city or, on a one-way trip, to another city in the USA. Which returns are possible depends on the rental company and the vehicle: the search shows the options for your dates. One-way rentals usually carry a one-way fee, and one-way trips between the USA and Canada aren't available.

  • Return it in the same condition as you received it, on the date and at the time stated in your rental agreement. Please:

    • Throw away the trash and remove all your personal belongings.
    • Empty the gray and black water tanks at a dump station if the company asks you to.
    • Return the fuel tank (and propane, if required) at the level you received it.

Otherwise the company may charge cleaning, dump, refueling or late-return fees. We recommend reviewing the specific Terms and Conditions for your rental company prior to return.

Driving in the USA

  • Most of the vehicles you can book can be driven with a standard car license; the requirements for each vehicle are listed on its page. Bring your original license from your home country. If it is not in English (or not in the Latin alphabet), bring an International Driving Permit (IDP) with it. The rental company has the final say, so check its conditions.

  • Age requirements depend on the rental company. As a general rule, drivers are 21 or 25 and over, and some companies charge a young driver fee. Drivers must also have held a valid license for the minimum time the company requires. The age and experience rules for each vehicle appear in its conditions.

  • Not all rentals come with unlimited miles. Many companies include a daily mileage allowance, charge for extra miles, or sell mileage packages, and others offer unlimited miles on selected models.

During the booking process or in the specification modal for each vehicle, you'll be able to see what mileage that specific model includes. Distances in the Southwest are long, so check this before you book a road trip.

    • Spring (March to May) and fall (September to November) are the best seasons for the national parks.
    • Summer is very hot in Las Vegas and Death Valley, often over 105°F (40°C) in the daytime, and from July to September monsoon storms can cause sudden flash floods.
    • Winter is mild in Las Vegas, but higher places such as Bryce Canyon (8,000–9,000 ft / 2,400–2,700 m) and the Grand Canyon South Rim (about 7,000 ft / 2,100 m) can be cold and snowy, and some roads, campgrounds and services close.

High rental season is summer (June to August) and the holidays; availability and prices are lower from November to March. You can check availability for your dates in the search box. If you need help, write to us at [email protected].

  • Vehicles drive on the right. Speed limits are in mph and vary by state and road: on rural highways they reach 70–80 mph. Follow the posted limits, and note that some states set lower limits for larger vehicles.

A right turn on red is allowed after a full stop unless a sign says otherwise. At a 4-way stop, the first vehicle to arrive goes first. Never pass a school bus that is stopped with its red lights flashing. The legal blood alcohol limit is 0.08% in most states and 0.05% in Utah: if you are driving, the safest approach is not to drink at all.

At many gas pumps the card reader asks for a ZIP code. With a foreign card, pay inside the station before you fill up.

The most common causes of accidents and vehicle damage include:

    • Height and length: Gas station canopies, drive-throughs, low bridges and tight parking lots. Know your RV's height.
    • Bumper and side damage: Very common when parking and backing up. Ask for help to guide you.
    • Wind: Strong gusts can push an RV around and slam open doors.
    • Heat and tires: In summer, check tire pressure and the engine temperature, and carry plenty of water.
    • Long downhills: Use a lower gear so the brakes do not overheat.
    • Open range: Livestock and wildlife such as deer can be on the road, especially at dawn and dusk.
    • Flash floods: Never cross a flooded road, and stay out of slot canyons when storms are forecast.
    • Fatigue and distractions: Distances are long and the scenery is hard to ignore. Share the driving and stop often.
  • Off-road driving is not allowed: that includes unpaved trails and tracks, dry riverbeds and washes, and crossing rivers or any other waterway. No insurance covers the damage caused by this kind of driving, so it would be entirely your responsibility.

Where to sleep: RV parks with full hookups (water, 30/50 amp electricity and sewer), state and national park campgrounds (those in national parks are booked at recreation.gov, often months ahead), and free dispersed camping on public BLM land, normally up to 14 days and with no services. You cannot spend the night in your RV on the street on the Las Vegas Strip: use an RV park. Casino and store parking lots depend on each place, so ask and read the signs. Empty gray and black water only at dump stations, and leave no trace.

  • On the usual Southwest routes there are very few toll roads, but tolls exist in other parts of the USA. Some use electronic toll tags or number plate recognition. In that case the rental company receives the bill and charges you, and administrative fees may apply. Please check your rental company's Terms and Conditions before setting off.

National parks charge an entrance fee per vehicle, or you can use an annual pass (America the Beautiful). For current fees and rules, see nps.gov. Campgrounds and RV parks are paid separately, directly or through recreation.gov.

  • While most providers offer a 24/7 roadside assistance helpline (with the number listed in your rental agreement), the exact coverage depends on the company. Be sure to check your provider's terms and conditions to see exactly what is included, like towing or flat-tire changes. For life-threatening emergencies, always call 911.

Insurance and deposit

  • It depends on the rental company and the vehicle. Rentals usually include the liability cover required by law and a damage waiver or collision cover, with an excess (deductible) up to which you are liable for damage. What is included, and the amount of the excess, are shown on each vehicle and in the company's conditions before you pay.

  • Yes, extra protection can be added directly during online booking. Depending on the provider and vehicle, options range from reduced-deductible packages to zero-excess coverage and higher liability limits. All available packages for your chosen model will be clearly displayed when you book online.

If you plan to rely on your credit card's coverage, please check with your card issuer or personal car insurer first, as their cover often does not apply to RVs.

  • Yes. At pick-up, a security deposit is held on a credit card as a guarantee. Many companies do not accept debit cards, prepaid cards or cash for the deposit. The amount depends on the company, the vehicle and the protection you choose, and it is released once the vehicle has been returned in the same condition and the final account is settled. Tolls, tickets and fines can take weeks to reach the company, which may then bill them to you.

  • Please note that insurance packages usually do not cover damage to the vehicle's underside, roof or tires, damage caused by driving off-road or through rivers and washes, water ingress, interior damage, or damage resulting from negligence or driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. You can review the full list of exclusions in the rental company's Terms and Conditions at the final step of the booking process.

  • In the event of a collision or accident, call 911 if anyone is hurt, notify the police and the rental company immediately, and do not leave the scene before the police arrive. For any damage, a report must be filled in and the company informed. If you need help on the road, call the roadside assistance number in your rental agreement.

Vehicles and equipment

  • Rental companies can't guarantee a particular make or model. The vehicle advertised may be replaced by a similar model or a higher category. What we do guarantee is that your vehicle will have at least the number of seats and beds you booked, although the layout and bed configuration may differ.

  • It depends on the vehicle. Each vehicle page in the RV rentals section lists its equipment and what is included in the price, so you know what to expect before you book.

  • Additional drivers, mileage packages, generator use, kitchen kits, personal kits (bedding and towels), a table and chair set, child seats and more. Which extras are available, and their price, depends on the rental company and the vehicle: you'll see them while booking. Some can also be added at pick-up. Take a look at our Extras page.

  • Only the main driver and the additional drivers named in the rental agreement can drive. You can add drivers as an extra when you book; with some vehicles, an additional driver is already included.

  • Smoking is not allowed in the vehicles, and a cleaning fee applies if this rule is not respected. Whether pets are allowed depends on the rental company. Check the conditions of your vehicle, and see our Terms and Conditions.

  • Of course. We know how hard it can be to plan a trip to a place you don't know yet. Tell us about your trip (how many people, how many days and which parks) and our team will recommend the vehicle that suits it best: just contact us.

  • Most RVs have a fresh water tank, gray and black water tanks, a house battery and, often, a generator. At RV parks with full hookups you connect to water, electricity and sewer. Away from hookups you use the tanks and the generator, which usually has quiet hours in campgrounds. Fill up with drinking water and empty the tanks at dump stations. Generator use is often charged by the hour, and the rental company will explain how everything works at pick-up.

Changes and cancellations

  • Yes. You can cancel your booking, but please note that a penalty may apply depending on the provider and vehicle type. You will see any applicable fees clearly before you pay. The cancellation fee increases as the pick-up date approaches, and no refund is issued for no-shows. For full details, please refer to our Terms and Conditions.

  • Write to us at [email protected] with your booking number and we'll check it with the provider. Changes are subject to availability and, depending on the vehicle, a modification fee may apply. See our Terms and Conditions.
